Milestones {Mansfield, Ohio Child Photographer}…

This little guy is celebrating some serious milestones this fall.  He started Kindergarten.  He road the bus for the first time.  And he is turning 6.

I am so glad I was asked to capture two of those three…

What a handsome looking little guy!  And a quick shot out for the outfit choice… I love the plaid with the stripes… just perfect! {Thankfully we did this session before the current heat wave hit}.

Thank you to this Momma for entrusting me with such special photos. Thank you to this handsome guy for putting up with all my crazy jokes I used to get some smiles.  Thank you for being so flexible with the rain delay.  Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.:)

Oh the Places You’ll Go… {Mansfield, Ohio Child Photographer}…

“Congratulations! Today is your day. You’re off to Great Places! You’re off and away!

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re can steer yourself any direction you choose.  You’re on your own.  And you know what you know know.  And YOU are the {girl} who’ll decide where to go…”  (Dr. Suess)

This very brief snippet from Oh the Places You’ll Go played over and over in my head as I thought of this sweet little girl and her session.  She headed to Kindergarten last week.  Kindergarteners are my favorite models for the Back to School Sessions.  They are so full of wonderment, excitement, nervousness and sheer joy at starting school. Their whole futures are ahead for these small little individuals and in Kindergarten those futures look so very bright. And I love capturing all of that.

And this sweet little girl was no exception. I loved her immediately.  I loved how she got out of her mom’s car with an air of confidence.  This girl is sure of herself and I think that is completely awesome. I loved how she felt at ease talking to me, a complete stranger {and I loved how her mom just let me take her and talk to her and focus on her… I sometimes do that… talk less to the parents and more to the kiddos during a session… and she gave me free reign for that}.  She told me about going to a hotel and visiting a water park before school started. She told me about how her first week of school would go.  She was completely engaging… at 5 years of age.

…”Oh! The Places You’ll Go!

You’ll be on your way up! You’ll be seeing great sights! You’ll join the high fliers who soar to high heights.”

“You won’t lag behind, because you’ll have the speed. You’ll pass the whole gang and you’ll soon take the lead.  Wherever you fly, you’ll be best of the best.  Wherever you go, you will top all the rest…”

“…Kid, you’ll move mountains! So…be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray or Mordecai Ale Van Allen O’Shea, you’re off to Great Places!! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So… get on your way.”

I heard from her Momma that she had a great first week of school.  I cannot say I was surprised.  This little girl is going to move mountains. I can just feel it.

Have a great rest of the year sweet girl!

Thank you Momma for taking time out of your schedule when you were in town for a quick session.  Thank you for allowing me to take her and work with her and give me free reign.  Thank you for helping make the session so fun.  Looking forward to working with you all again!

The R Family… Take Two {Mansfield, Ohio Family and Child Photographer}…

When a prior client contacts me to do book another session with me I get these little butterflies.  Butterflies of feeling honored to have been chosen again.  And also butterflies of feeling nervous because I so hope the subsequent session will be as successful as the first session.

I felt that same way when this family contacted me all the way back in November to book another session for this fall.  I had taken their photos last summer and was so honored and happy… and even a bit nervous… that they wanted to book another session.

I love how organized this Momma is… I mean she is on top of things… making my job so much easier.  I love she knew the exact location they wanted… having seen a photo I took last fall in this exact same location…

{Don’t worry Momma… I got THE shot here… you just have to wait until the slideshow to see it :)}

I loved seeing how the kiddos had grown…

And how much fun this family still has just being together…

I loved working with you all again!  Thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity.  Thank you for again making the drive. Thank you for allowing your kiddos to just be kiddos.  Thank you for going with the flow :). I hope your sweet little gal is loving school and that they both got some cousin and ice cream time :). Thanks again!!

4 Ladies & Their Guy {Berne, Indiana Family Photographer}…

It feels to good to be here blogging, showing off this session.  I’ve been dying for Momma to see these images.  She has been wanting a whole family session for awhile and I am so glad the timing finally worked out.

It was so wonderful to see these girls…

I’ve had the honor of watching them grow up since they were wee little things. They have grown up into such nice, polite and sweet girls.  I am so very proud of them and the beautiful ladies they are growing up to be!

And I was thrilled they were willing to get up so early so we could do these photos.

We also were all gathering to celebrate their sister’s birthday.

I absolutely adore her sass in this image

Can you guess which birthday she was celebrating?

Do you recognize her? You’ve seen her here before.

She is so very lucky to have such great big sisters. They love her so much… and she them. Complete adoration all around.

And their hair… seriously… to die for!! One family should not be allowed to have such gorgeous hair!

Of course, we got their Momma and Daddy in some photos as well.  These two… I just love.  She is the closest thing I will ever have for a sister… one of the very few people I tell I love every single time we get off the phone.  He is the perfect complement to her and someone who I just adored immediately.  I am so very blessed to call them family. And they’ve done such a great job raising such amazing young ladies.

Thank you all for allowing me the honor of capturing these moments.  Thank you to the girls for getting up so very early for these photos.  Thank you all for your enthusiasm with having this session.  Thank you all for being just so wonderful… I love you all dearly!

Upcoming Session Update {Mansfield, Ohio Family and Child Photographer}…

It’s that time again :). A quick update on the upcoming available sessions.  I will start with one of my favorites… these are back…

I am so excited to again offer Back to School Mini-Sessions on Sunday, September 1, 2013 in Downtown Mansfield.  These sessions are quick and absolutely perfect to capture your child as they enter their next year of school.  It is the celebration of the milestone of starting preschool, kindergarten or even junior high and high school, and all grades in between!  The start of school is such a special time in a child’s life and definitely should be recorded. {I have even had families substitute school photos for these photos}.

These are designed for children aged 3-18.

{Click here for a past session}

I have also decided to add a mini-session date for Sunday, July 28, 2013, location to be determined.  Please contact me immediately if you are interested in this session date.  I will give you more information upon contact.

Also, please click here for the rest of the 2013 Mini-Session calendar.  Sessions are booking quickly so it is definitely not too early to book a future session.  This is especially important because I only accept a limited number of sessions a month.

Wanting something a bit more than a mini-session? Please click here and here for other session options.  Can’t decide which session is for you, I am absolutely more than happy to answer any questions you may have about your different options. You can contact me at either dawn{at} or 419-989-3822 and we will discuss your options.

So far 2013 has been amazing… I am so looking forward to the remainder of this year with DFP Photography!
